The Tribeca Trib

The Tribeca Trib is a neighborhood free monthly newspaper at 401 Broadway in Tribeca, New York, New York.[1][2][3][4]

It covers the Manhattan neighborhoods of Battery Park and Tribeca.[5] It is available in stores, banks, restaurants, residential buildings, and distribution boxes in Lower Manhattan.[6]

History

Carl Glassman, a photographer who had always wanted to create a small-town newspaper, found contributors among the many writers who live in TriBeCa, and among his photojournalism students at New York University.[7] He and his wife, April Koral, became co-editors, and she handled the advertising.[7]

In September 1994 the paper had its first press run (7,000 copies).[7] The first 24-page issue made money, with articles on local issues, personalities and the arts and advertising space about equal.[7]

By 1996, the paper was being quoted in The New York Times and the New York Daily News.[8][9][10][11] Since, it has also been quoted by the New York Post, New York Magazine, The Washington Post, and The Christian Science Monitor.[12][13][14]
